My name is Mark MacLennan. I became an anaesthetist by graduating from Medicine at Melbourne University and, after 2 years general resident doctoring in teaching hospitals, studied and trained for a further 5 years in Australia and England passing my specialist anaesthetic exams in both countries.
I have worked in both Public (eg Royal Melbourne Hospital) and Private Anaesthetic Practice, including 8 years sharing the running of the Intensive Care Units at the Alfred Hospital. I am now devoted entirely to my Private Practice, where my particular interests are in Post-operative Pain Relief and Shortening Recovery Time (i.e. from surgery and anaesthesia to the resumption of one’s normal activity). I am active in Professional and Hospital Organizations and keep up to date by frequently organising and attending Continuing Education Meetings and Seminars.
