Karl is committed to working in partnership with patients and surgeons to create positive experiences.
He has a wide range of professional interests which include working with patients and obstetricians to facilitate pain relief during labour or for Caesarean sections, as well as anaesthesia for diverse surgical specialties including head and neck, plastics, neurosurgery, gynaecology, hepatobiliary and colorectal surgery.
His role is to help patients achieve their goals in a way that is tailored to individual needs and guided by their previous experiences. He helps to facilitate care which puts safety and comfort at the forefront of every interaction.
Karl obtained his medical degree at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, and was based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital for most of his junior doctor and specialist training years. He completed fellowship programs in both obstetric anaesthesia (Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne), as well as cardiac and liver transplant anaesthesia (King’s College Hospital, London).
