Masters in Medicine – Critical Care

Tom completed his Bachelor of Medicine through the University of Adelaide. He then undertook most of his anaesthesia specialty training in Adelaide, including a rotation to Darwin, before moving to Melbourne to complete his Fellowship. He trained at many major hospitals across both cities, including the Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Alfred Hospital.

He now holds an appointment as a consultant anaesthetist at The Alfred Hospital, where he is also involved in teaching and education, providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) training to both consultant and trainee anaesthetists. He is also accredited at, and provides anaesthesia for patients at many private hospitals across Melbourne, including the Epworth sites, Cabrini, St Vincent’s and many others.

He takes pride in providing compassionate, safe and patient-centred care, aiming to ensure a positive experience for his patients, and trying to minimise the stress that may be associated with undergoing a surgical procedure. He has a wide range of clinical experience, but has a particular interest in providing anaesthesia for Neurosurgical, Orthopaedic, Urological, Plastics and Reconstructive, Obstetric, Robotic and General Surgical procedures.

When not at work he enjoys spending time with his family, catching up with friends, watching AFL and travelling.
