In 1999 I completed a Masters of Business Adminstration and concurrent Certificate in Public Sector Management at the Melbourne Business School, the University of Melbourne. I held a Scholarship from the Victorian Public Sector for these studies.
I subsequently took up the position as Director of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital, arguably Australia’s largest single teaching hospital. I served in this position for six years and am very grateful and proud to have been associated with that Organisation.
Amongst the official duties I have had the pleasure the perform I include as an examiner in the Primary Examination of the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists; and as a member and Vice Chairman of the Queensland Regional Committee of the College.
I returned to Melbourne in 2005 and am a Visiting Medical Officer at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg, and the Chairman of the Anaesthesia Advisory Committee at Epworth Hospital, Richmond.
My clinical interests have remained in anaesthesia for cardiovascular surgery and head and neck surgery. I have a keen interest in the advances in neuromuscular blockade. where my early reserach interests led; and in anaesthesia for overseas aid.
